#GamingBytes: 5 things gamers would love to see in Fortnite
Fortnite, by Epic Games, has taken the 'Battle Royale' genre by storm. It is the biggest competitor of PUBG and though it receives hate for its apparent lack of realism, it still has a massive fan base. The new content, that Epic keeps bringing, makes the gameplay enjoyable. However, there is always scope for improvement. Here's how Epic can enhance the experience.
A word in defense of Fortnite
Before the Fortnite fans come rushing to vilify me, here's a word in defense of the game. It has great personality and the cartoon-like take on the Battle Royale is truly unique. Most importantly, it is free to play on all platforms, which gamers love.
Running over the same old ground, same old fears
Fortnite should really introduce a new map. Although Epic tries to keep the map interesting by adding new, exciting content, the same map gets boring quickly. Adding new locations is not the solution either. Give Fortnite players a few more map variants. Notably, PUBG already has three maps with another scheduled to come out later this year.
Give us new wheels Fortnite
One of the major complaints Fortnite players had, was that there were no vehicles in the game. However, now the developers have introduced the All Terrain Kart, but players could sure use a few more vehicle variants. Give us some two-wheelers, boats. Notably, both PUBG and Call of Duty Blackout have more vehicles and the latter takes vehicular warfare to new levels.
Strong leadership can improve the initial gameplay experience
Fortnite should definitely make a player the squad leader. Without the leadership, squad games lack the degree of cohesion that squads in PUBG offer. Further, the squad leader should have the option of ejecting all members of his team from the battle bus and landing at the same spot. In absence of this option, squads often botch up landings, and members land far apart.
Building is a drag in a shooting game
I, personally, dislike the aspect of building in a Battle Royale. However, it is one of unique features of Fortnite and figures heavily in getting a victory royale. Fortnite should simplify the building system, players should be allowed to have preset shapes from the main menu. The number of buttons required to build complex structures makes the game a drag towards the end.
Make the weapons look cooler, please
With customizable player skins and wonderful cosmetics, one would expect weapon skins In Fortnite. However, the game has not included them yet. Weapon skins have proven successful additions in other games, as players often grind to unlock the skins that visually express them the best. Nonetheless, the new season is expected to introduce weapon skins, so maybe one of our wishes will come true.
