His wife, Hasin Jahan has filed a police complaint accusing him of match-fixing. This comes just a day after the Kolkata woman accused Shami of having extra-marital affairs. On March 6, Jahan wrote a series of posts on Facebook, accusing Shami of cheating her. Further, she accused him of accepting money from a Pakistani woman under the influence of an England based businessman. Jahan stated that she has proof against her husband and has filed a complaint in Kolkata's Lal Bazar Police station.

Shami has hit back at his wife, regarding the new allegations against him of fixing matches, by claiming that she has lost her mental balance. According to reports, Shami accused Jahan of trying to sabotage his career. He added that she needs to prove all the allegations made against him and he is also planning to take appropriate legal action against Jahan.
