What's the story

England skipper Harry Kane toppled Romelu Lukaku and Cristiano Ronaldo to become the leading scorer at FIFA World Cup 2018.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker scored a hat-trick in England's 6-1 win over Panama in a crucial Group G encounter on Sunday.

The emphatic victory helped England qualify for the knock-out stages alongside Belgium.

Here is more on the same.

Kane and records go hand in hand

Harry Kane has had five shots on target in the 2018 World Cup and has netted five already.

He also became the first player to score a brace in his first two World Cup appearances since Poland's Grzegorz Lato in 1974.

Kane's goals helped England score 4+ goals in a World Cup since 1966.

His penalty was the 1st converted by England since 2002.
