Women's T20 World Cup: Harmanpreet Kaur set to attain milestone
Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of India's women's cricket team, is on the verge of a significant milestone. She will soon become part of an exclusive group known as the Super Six, who have participated in all nine editions of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup. This achievement makes her the only Indian woman cricketer to do so. Other members include Suzie Bates (New Zealand), Sophie Devine (England), Marizanne Kapp (South Africa), Ellyse Perry (Australia) and Chamari Athapaththu (Sri Lanka).
Harmanpreet's focus on ICC trophy, not personal achievements
Despite her impending entry into the Super Six club, Kaur's primary goal remains unfulfilled - winning an ICC trophy. "I have played so many World Cups, and that experience and atmosphere is totally different to any bilateral series or any other tournament," she said in a press conference. The Indian captain is set to lead a seasoned team in the upcoming tournament, with only three out of 15 members yet to play in a T20 World Cup.
Kaur's recent form and strategy for upcoming tournament
Kaur's recent performance has been less than stellar, with just two half-centuries since the last ICC Women's T20 World Cup. She has scored 368 runs from 17 innings (22 matches) at a strike rate of 116. However, she remains unfazed by her form, stating: "I know what the pressure is like and how I am going to handle it." Her strategy for the upcoming tournament is to play freely and enjoy her cricket.
