RCB scale 202-run target against GG in WPL 2025 opener

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women scaled down a target of 202 runs against Gujarat Giants in the Women's Premier League opener on Friday.
GG managed 201/5 in 20 overs, riding on Beth Mooney's 56 and Ashleigh Gardner's unbeaten 79.
In response, Ellyse Perry smashed a 34-ball 57. Richa Ghosh hammered a 27-ball 64*.
RCB managed 202/4 with 9 balls to spare.

Mooney and Gardner shine for GG
Mooney set the tone for GG and handed them a perfect start. Laura Wolvaardt and Dayalan Hemalatha failed for the side at the other end.
When Mooney was out, GG were 85/3. Thereafter, Gardner and Deandra Dottin shared a fifty-plus stand.
Gardner's heroics helped GG breach the 200-run mark.
For RCB, Renuka Singh claimed two wickets.

Meanwhile, the 93*-run stand between Ahujaa and Ghosh is the 3rd-highest for RCB in WPL.
