Manchester City break several Premier League records
Pep Guardiola's Manchester City have set a new precedent as they shattered several Premier League records previously held by Chelsea. The Sky Blues beat Brighton 3-1 to take their number of wins to 31 in the 2017/18 season and the points tally to 97. City (105) overtook Chelsea's record of most number of goals scored in a single campaign.
City in a different dimension this term
Chelsea held the record for the most goals in a season after they plundered 103 in 2009-2010 under Ancelotti. They also held the record of accumulating most points in a season when they had reached 95 in 2004-2005. City broke both these records this term.
City can become the first team to reach 100 points
Manchester City had wrapped up the Premier League title last month with 5 matches to spare. They are now 20 points ahead of second-placed Manchester United. City are now just 3 points away from the 100 point mark. They can become the first team to reach this milestone, if they manage to beat Southampton on the final day of the Premier League.
Perfect farewell for Yaya Toure
