Bat signed by World Cup winning-team being auctioned by Chappell
Former India cricket team coach Greg Chappell will be auctioning a bat signed by the ICC World T20 winning team. The Aussie, whose stint as India coach was filled with controversies, is hosting a charity auction in Sydney. According to reports, the auction is being held to raise funds for homeless youths in the country. Here is all you need to know.
Chappell Foundation to raise funds in charity dinner
The Chappell Foundation will be holding a charity dinner and is expecting to raise over $200,000. The event will be held on May 24 at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The prime factor is the foundation's work to help homeless youth and that will see at least 400 people attending the charity event. Several NRIs will also be a part of the function.
T20 WC winning team signed bat could be a hit
The T20 WC winning team's signed bat is expected to draw a mega bid at the SCG. MS Dhoni's team had beaten Pakistan in the WT20 final and that itself is another reason to go big. India was the first nation to win the T20 WC which made its debut in the same year. It is indeed a good move for charity.
Other attraction in the charity event
As for the NRI people attending the event, there will be a bid for premium seating in the Adelaide stadium when India visit Australia later this year. There is also another bid for hospitality suite at the SCG when India play here in January 2019.
