Australian Olympian Jane Flemming has publicly endorsed Gout's potential. In a conversation with 2GB's Wide World of Sports Radio, she stated, "There's a 16-year-old sprinter up in Queensland called Gout Gout, who if I've ever seen anybody run like Usain Bolt and [be] built like him, he is it." She further noted that his running times are not dissimilar to what Bolt achieved at the same age in Jamaica.
