    Legend Tiger Woods is set to be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame at the PGA Tour headquarters in Florida on Wednesday.

    Woods is a veteran of 15 majors, the second-most after Jack Nicklaus (18). The former has won the PGA Tour 82 times.

    Woods is out of this week's Players Championship at Sawgrass as he hasn't recovered from his car-crash injuries.

    Woods will be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame on Wednesday. His daughter, Sam, 14, will introduce him.

    Woods will be inducted alongside former PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem, four-time major winner Susie Maxwell, and architect Marion Hollins.

    As per ESPN, this is the first time since 2013 that the induction ceremony is being held in Florida during the Players Championship.

    Highlighting the achievements of Woods, professional golfer Rory McIlroy, ahead of the Players Championship, said, "He was going to be a Hall of Famer when he was five years old."

    "He's been an inspiration for so many of us. We - all that are playing here this week - have to thank Tiger for where the game is and where the Tour is."

    Woods has won 82 PGA Tour events

    One of the greatest golfers, Woods, has won a total of 82 official PGA Tour events.

    He won the last of these at the ZOZO Championship in October 2019 (in Japan).

    Woods has clinched 15 majors (Masters Tournament: 1997, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2019. PGA Championship: : 1999, 2000, 2006, 2007. US Open: 2000, 2002, 2008. The Open Championship: 2000, 2005, 2006).

    Woods has spent the most consecutive weeks at the top of the world rankings.

    He is one of five players to have won the Career Grand Slam (all four major championships in the career). The others are Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, and Jack Nicklaus.

    Woods was also the youngest among all four to achieve this feat.

    Woods is the only player to have won all four major championships consecutively. He had accomplished the feat in the 2000-2001 seasons. He won the US Open (2000), The Open Championship (2000), PGA Championship (2000), and Masters Tournament (2001).

    Accident

    Tiger Woods was injured in a car accident last year

    In February 2021, Woods suffered serious injuries after the car he was traveling in flew off the road and flipped multiple times in Los Angeles, United States.

    The law enforcement official who found him said Woods was "very fortunate" to survive. The leg injuries necessitated Woods to undergo hours of surgery.

    A month later, Woods partnered his son, Charlie, in the PNC Championship.
