Problems for Real Madrid as Gareth Bale injured again
Real Madrid were playing against Villareal when their star forward Gareth Bale injured his calf muscle and had to be shipped out during half-time. Bale is known to be injury-prone and concerns were growing with the speculation that Bale might once again be out of the picture for long. However, recent reports have clarified that the injury is not that serious.
Real Madrid's announcement after the injury
After the Welshman injured himself, the club put out an announcement on their website, stating that his was a grade one injury. However, no further details were provided. The injury may cause Bale to miss out on two La Liga matches against Real Sociedad and Real Betis respectively, and also their last 16 clash against Leganes in the Copa Del Rey.
Solari gives fans a ray of hope
After all the medical tests were completed, Real Madrid manager Santiago Solari told the press that the injury was not too serious and the forward would resume providing his services shortly. This season, the Welshman has made a total of 22 appearances for Los Blancos, but only on five occasions did he manage to play a full 90 minutes.
Bale's injury might give Isco a chance to prove himself
For quite some time now, there have been rumors of a rift between Santiago Solari and Isco. However, the Spanish midfielder might be given a chance in the first team in the time Bale takes to recuperate from his injury. Recently, Solari was all high praises about Isco, saying, "Isco is so good he can play wherever, in any position on the pitch".
Real have been having quite a difficult season this term
Not only Bale, but several other Los Blancos stars have been plagued by injuries this season. Marco Asensio, Marcos Llorente and Mariano Diaz are all recovering from injuries and could miss their La Liga match scheduled for Sunday. In the match against Villareal, Marcelo, who has also returned from a serious hamstring injury, was held responsible for the visitors' first goal of the match.
