Ashish Nehra eyeing to play in Champions Trophy
Veteran bowler Ashish Nehra has expressed his desire to play in the upcoming Champions Trophy in June this year. In an interview he said, "Right now, I am preparing for IPL since Delhi hasn't qualified for Hazare Trophy. Then there's the Champions Trophy." The 38-year old will be playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in this year's Indian Premier League.

Ashish Nehra is an Indian fast bowler who is known for his ability to swing bowl in both directions and bowl in death overs. He made his debut for Indian team in 1999 and has been on and off the team since then due to his health issues. In 120 ODIs that he has played, Nehra has picked up 157 wickets.
Nehra's impressive T20 career
Ashish Nehra made his T20 debut in 2009 and has played 26 T20Is till now. He has 34 wickets and 98 Indian Premier League wickets from 82 games.
I set myself a target of bowling 138 kmph: Nehra
Ashish Nehra added during the interview that even at 38-years of age, he was still a fast bowler. He also said, "I was never the conventional 125-128 kmph bowler. Even today with the new ball, I set myself a target of bowling 138 kmph and I have to do that." He also said that he could notch upto 140 in T20s if needed.
Nehra remembers former coach Gary Kirsten and his advice
Ashish Nehra said that he regrets not accepting former coach Gary Kirsten's invitation to play test cricket in 2009. He said, "I should have accepted that offer from Gary to play Test matches. From 30-34, I could have easily played four years of Test cricket."
