French Open: Ons Jabeur breezes past Vickery, reaches second round
Eighth seed Ons Jabeur reached the 2024 French Open second round after beating Sachia Vickery. The former won the women's singles first-round clash 6-3, 6-2 after an hour and 21 minutes. Jabeur has qualified for this stage at Roland Garros for the second straight year. She is yet to go past the quarter-finals at this Slam. Here are the key stats.

"I did a wonderful preparation. I practiced a lot, and I never dropped a set during practice sessions. I hope that I will see that again on the major courts, such as Philippe Chatrier, and I hope to get the upper hand every time. But I will see it point after point, game after game, and we'll see," said Jabeur after beating Vickery.

Jabeur will next face Camila Osorio, who reached the second round after Anhelina Kalinina retired trailing 3-6, 7-6(2), 4-1. Notably, Osorio saved triple match point in the second set. Notably, Jabeur has a 2-0 lead over Osorio.
