#GamingBytes: Fortnite giving free V-Bucks to wrongly banned players
Fortnite developer, Epic Games is trying to dominate the Battle Royale genre, by paying close attention to the quality of gaming experience delivered. To this end, Epic is vigilant about in-game cheaters and takes strict stances to ban them. However, due to its ever-increasing gamer base, a few innocent players, unfortunately, get banned. Read how Epic will compensate them.
Never too late for apologies
Due to Epic's clampdown on cheaters, plenty of gamers expressed their frustration since their accounts had been disabled with a message stating that they were involved in 'suspicious activity'. Epic took note and addressed this issue. Wrongly banned players on logging back in can see Epic's apology and more importantly, they are being given 2000 V-Bucks for free to compensate for the inconvenience caused.
What does Epic's apology say?
Epic apologized, saying, "We incorrectly banned your account. We're sorry and will be granting V-Bucks to your account to compensate for the error".
Epic's ongoing war on cheating
Fortnite has become really popular and the game is naturally drawing cheaters. Epic has taken strict stances to wage war against those who are cheating or using illegal software. It is banning accounts and even suing cheaters so that everyone enjoys a fair experience. To this extent, it bought the anti-cheat software company, Kamu to protect its players.
A few unhappy casualties
Although Epic's crackdown is working, some unhappy casualties include a player who was banned four months ago for allowing a friend from another country to log into his account. Others have complained about not receiving apology gifts. Notably, some of these wronged gamers could be lying about banning reasons. Nonetheless, it is encouraging to see Epic admitting to mistakes and striving to correct them.
Accept the apology
Since apologies and gifts from game developers are rare, users should accept Epic's stance with open arms. Further 2000 V-Bucks cost around Rs. 1,439 and wrongly banned players can now spend this free currency on cosmetic items in the Fortnite store or the Battle Pass.
