Fortnite: In Season 6, 'Loot Lake' island is changing location
What's the story
Fortnite Season 6 has brought several modifications to the map, but the most exciting change came after Season 5's Purple Cube went into Loot Lake.
The cube managed to lift an island straight up from Loot Lake.
Today, developers, Epic Games, posted a huge teaser of floating island on Twitter.
This new teaser promises to make changes to the map really soon.
Theory to truth
Fans hit this theoretical nail on its head
At the start of the season, fans speculated that the island containing the Purple Cube would likely move, having come across the game file labeled 'cube growth'.
Players had also seen it near Salty Springs while playing Playground sessions.
Epic has now confirmed this, asking players if they are ready for darkness to rise and showing the island at a brand new map location.

Changes
Expect season 6 to usher in the darkness
The leaks have also shown the island floating near Retail Row, though it has not been confirmed yet.
Nonetheless, the island movement and Epic, cryptically, referring to the rise of darkness ties in with the spooky changes in-game.
These include the rows of corn, Haunted Castle and Corrupted Areas.
It seems as though players must prepare for more darkness coming to the Fortnite world.
