A little about the purple cube
The purple box appeared on August 24, when the rift closed after a final lightning strike. Whenever players come in contact with it, they are pushed back. However, their armor gets refilled. If the box is attacked, players are punished. Those who hit it, with a pickaxe, are knocked back and take damage. Players, who shoot at it, are killed by bolts of lightning.
Where is the cube now?
The purple cube, after its confusing movements, appears to rest on the top of a hill between Salty Springs and Fatal Fields. The cube also appears to have been activated. It is glowing more brightly than before, from the bottom. This makes the runs on the body of the cube clearer. More importantly, a low gravity dome surrounds the cube.
The 'gravity' of the situation
Players can land inside the dome safely. However, it is not quite visible unless players are inside or close to it. The dome, itself, is harmless and gives players 'hop rock' abilities. This lets them jump and come back down without suffering a damage. The cube still reacts aggressively to attacks. It will be interesting to see how battles take place inside the dome.
What are hop rocks?
The mysterious hop rocks appeared at meteor crash sites in Season 4. Consuming these gave the players a jump bonus. Interestingly, under the influence, players emitted a purple glow. The players jumping inside the low-gravity dome also emit a similar glow. Are these two connected?
