#GamingBytes: Epic's Fortnite organizes open tournament at PAX
PAX West, the gaming cultural event, will see Epic's Fortnite organizing a mega event to mark the end of its 'Summer Skirmish' competition series. Notably, this is Epic's first major open event. Anyone who is at PAX and wants to try their hands at Fortnite can register for it. The tournament will take place on all four days of the PAX. Here're more details.
What is Summer Skirmish?
Summer skirmish is an 8-week event hosted by Epic's Fortnite. It is a series of competitions where the format and competitors change each week thus keeping players on their toes.
You have to play by their rules
Epic's tournament at PAX is open to everyone and every day there will be three qualifiers. Each qualifier will have a two-match duration. Registration of players will be on a first come, first serve basis. Top 32 players will be selected from each qualifier to compete in the nightly qualifiers. From each nightly qualifier, 33 players will move to the Grand Finals on Monday.
Tournament show timings
The prize-pool for the tournament is $1.5 million. At the third stage of Grand Finals, a Victory Royale will get a bonus of $25,000. People not attending PAX can watch the tournament on the Twitch channel. The Day 3 of the final qualifiers is from 6:30 AM IST tomorrow and on September 3 is the Grand Finals from 11:30 PM IST.
