#GamingBytes: Fortnite's Shadow Stones turning players to ghosts
Fortnite Season 6 came out on September 27. The new season introduced 'Shadow Stones', which were to be the equivalent of last season's rifts. These stones are interactive items which turn the players invisible and give them speed and jump boosts. However, invisible players should not be able to use weapons. But a glitch has turned players into ghosts. Read about it here.
The invisible bullets from ghost players
The Shadow Stones are turning players permanently invisible in the game. Further, invisible players are able to use all equipment and weapons, giving them an unfair advantage. They can keep dashing, jumping higher, running faster and glitching inside trucks. Ideally, the invisibility was supposed to last for only some time. After noticing his bug, Epic has temporarily removed Shadow Stones from the game.
What was the Shadow Stone intended to do?
The Shadow Stone was supposed to allow players to dash, run faster, jump higher, but they would appear as shadowy figures while in motion. Standing completely still for 45 seconds would render them invisible. However, while this ability was activated, players should not have been able to use their weapons or build structures. Most importantly, this ability was supposed to be temporary.
How was the in-game glitch activated?
The in-game glitch got activated when players were knocked down immediately after interacting with the Shadow Stone. If players came under enemy attack and got knocked down, they were able to unlock an unlimited power from the Shadow Stone. However, they would have to be revived by the team-mate. Notably, these stones, created by the mysterious Purple Cube, will return to the game soon.
