#GamingBytes: Fortnite's floating island is experiencing strange changes
Epic keeps adding exciting content to the popular Battle Royale game, Fortnite. Its map has seen several changes like rockets, meteors and the mysterious Purple Cube, which gamers lovingly named Kevin. Kevin, after rolling across the map, had landed in Loot Lake, completely changing it and creating a floating island. Now it appears that the floating island, too, is changing. Read about it here.
How is the floating island different?
Earlier the house on floating island only had giant purple crystals in the basement. However, in the past few days, gamers have noticed tendrils from the cube climbing up the walls of the house. The tendrils cover both the inside and outside of the house and appear indestructible. There is also an ominous smoky haze that appears to be emanating from within the house.
The changes that have come to the cube
The house on the floating island is not the only change that has come to the map. Kevin is changing as well. A gamer noticed that the cube was emanating a pulsating glowing light and the runes, that were previously present on the surface, disappeared mysteriously. Notably, the floating island should reach Salty Springs, on the Fortnite map, within the next few days.
What do these changes signify?
It is logical to deduce that with all the changes coming to floating island and the cube itself, Fortnite will see a massive map change sometime in the near future. The purple cube has truly been Epic's longest running gag that had players confused. One can only hope that Season 6 sees a fruitful and fitting end to the enigma that is Kevin.
Broken, bent and demolished
Another change that might be of significance in the Fortnite map, is the building in Titled Towers, which used to be an outdoor sports shop. After being wrecked by the cube, it appears as though the building is again being demolished with construction tools.
