#GamingBytes: Fortnite to get new Port-A-Fortress item
Fortnite Season 5 is coming to an end. However, it appears that developers Epic will give fans one more item before Season 6 begins. The Port-A-Fortress will be added in the next Fortnite patch, so fans can expect it by Tuesday or Wednesday this week. This item appears to be an upgraded Port-A-Fort. Read all about the new item.
What is the Port-A-Fortress?
The Port-A-Fortress is a legendary upgrade to the Port-A-Fort item, which was already available in-game in season 5. The old item would spawn a 1 by 1 base, which was three panels tall. The upgraded item promises to take the defense to new heights. It will possibly spawn an entire base instead of a tower. This will allow squads to take shelter.

The new item, Port-A-Fortress, will appear on tossing the item-grenade. From what can be understood, this fortress will be three panels wide, have a front door and have four panels in height. There might also be a turret in each corner for players to keep watch. Notably, if the fortress is made of metal akin to the fort, it will be hard to breach.
How will this item affect gameplay?
Building structures is a major part of winning the 'Battle Royale'. If you are not a quick or good builder, this item will really help your gameplay. However, apart from giving you immediate cover or temporary shelter, this item will not affect your playstyle. It also remains to be seen how the fortress will hold up against grenade launchers and missiles.

The Port-A-Fortress item will become the latest in the list of exciting items in Fortnite Season 5. Players welcomed the rift-to-go, grapple gun, and port-a-fort, all of which changed the way Fortnite was played. Hopefully, Epic will let players carry these items to Season 6.
