#GamingBytes: Fortnite cheaters get targeted by scammers
Fortnite is an immensely popular Battle Royale. As with any game with massive popularity, it attracts hackers and cheaters. While they inevitably ruin the gameplay experience for all others, with their automatic constructions and wall hacks, even they are not immune from attacks. Recent reports show Fortnite cheaters are, ironically, under threat from hackers, themselves. Read all about it here.
Bad meets worse in surprising turn of events
Fortnite cheaters have, recently, reported that they are specifically being targeted by hackers. Anti-virus company, Malwarebyte Labs has confirmed this news saying, "The new season of the incredibly popular video game Fortnite is upon us, and so too are the scams. It's no surprise that con artists would jump on this bandwagon, eager to peddle their fakeouts'. Kaspersky Lab, too, has confirmed this news.
If you've got the money, we've got your disease
The scamsters are selectively targeting hackers by promising them huge amounts of Fortnite currency, V-Bucks. They dupe them with fake surveys, convincing these unethical cheaters to hand over personal information. Another scamming technique involves promising a perfect tool to kill someone from across the map. However, in reality, this tool infects the computers once installed. Frankly, cheaters are facing consequences for their greed.
A most twisted justice system
While one should support victims of scamming, in this case, they are cheaters. Nonetheless, scamming is a serious offense and innocent players could be targeted too. However, for Fortnite cheaters, we suggest you resist urges to cheat the game, to save yourself from getting scammed.
