#GamingBytes: Fortnite launches 'Presents', know all about this feature
Fortnite by Epic Games has cemented its place as the popular Battle Royale due to the constant addition of new items through its updates. The patch v7.10 is its first content update, and it has brought a new item into the game, called 'Presents'. Being a content update, players can head directly to the game without downloading anything to access this item. Here's more.
What are 'Presents' and where to find them?
'Presents' are new consumable items that have been added to the game. Like other weapons and items, they too will be found in Supply Drops and Chests. Unlike Chests and Ammo Boxes, Presents will not be scattered across the map, and the aforementioned way is the only method to obtain them in the Battle Royale. They usually contain Legendary rarity item and other resources.
How do the 'Presents' work in the game?
In the game, once you come across a Present, you have to toss it like the other utility items. In some ways, the usage is similar to Port-A-Fortress. Players will find a giant square-shaped Present, which they have to break down and enter. Once you are inside the Present, you are likely to come across a set of extremely powerful weapons and other items.
This is first content update, two more updates lined up
Apart from the Battle Royale mode, the 'Presents' can be added to the Creative Mode, where players can make custom made games. Further, this is just the first content update of this holiday season, and Epic has two more updates lined up.
Find Present early on in the game, arm yourself satisfactorily
Since Presents are more easily available in the game than Supply Drops, players will be using these to get their hands on powerful weaponry. If they find a Present early on in the game, they can satisfactorily arm themselves, and take out lesser equipped players who are still searching for loot. We expect players to prioritize searching for Presents over high-end weapons early in-game.
