#GamingBytes: Epic announces $10 million for Fortnite Fall Skirmish
Fortnite is one of the most popular 'Battle Royale' games to have eSports tournaments. Epic's Summer Skirmish was a resounding success. While specifics have not yet been revealed, here is what we know.
Epic announces the Fall Skirmish
There's a battle outside, raging
The Fall Skirmish will be a six-week event with a prize pool of $10 million. Notably, the introduction of the grapple gun will make it even more interesting. Change in storm patterns and damage caused to players' structures will also impact the gameplay. Even though, Epic will announce further details soon, we can expect this series to be similar to the Summer Skirmish.
Memories of summer
The Summer Skirmish was the first long-term Fortnite competition organized by Epic. It was an eight-week event with an $8 million cash prize. The final event at PAX was open to all who wanted to try their luck at winning $1.5 million. Epic has fixed some of the bugs that plagued the Summer Skirmish and one can expect a bigger tournament this fall.
Who can take part in the Skirmish?
If Epic follows the Summer Skirmish format, the participants will include known pros, game streamers and normal players, who receive an online invitation based on exceptional game performances. Think you might get an invite?
