    Five youngsters who have taken European football by storm

    What's the story

    The European club season is in its final stage and this season was a breakthrough year for several youngsters.

    These players are being touted as the next big things in European football.

    Young and dynamic, these raw players have shown promise to enter stardom in the future.

    Here we look at five such players that have been the find of their respective clubs.

    Spaniard

    Ferran Torres - Valencia

    The right-winger has grown to be an exciting player for Valencia.

    Torres was promoted from the Valencia B team to the senior side this season and he has been handed a new contract already, after interest from Barcelona and Madrid.

    The 18-year-old has been a regular for the Spain U17 and has the attributes to make it big.

    He has the pace and trickery.

    The English prodigy

    Phil Foden - Manchester City

    He was the hero of England's FIFA U17 team that beat Spain 2-0 in the final last year.

    Post that, Foden knocked the door of Pep Guardiola and the Man City manager gave him the desired breakthrough.

    Eight appearances in 2017-18 including the Champions League must have given the creative midfielder loads of confidence.

    Expect him to get more game time under Pep.

    Next Bundesliga hero?

    Jadon Sancho - Borussia Dortmund

    The England U17 player was signed by Borussia Dortmund and was handed the number 7 shirt.

    The versatile forward developed in the Man City academy and left for Germany after not being assured of game time.

    He has already made 8 appearances for the Bundesliga side and is touted to be the next Dembele.

    He was given the Golden Player Award (U-17) in 2017.

    Red army

    Trent Alexander Arnold - Liverpool

    The Liverpool graduate did wonders this season after debuting for the senior side in 2016-17.

    Impressive performances by Arnold ensured that the manager Jurgen Klopp handed him 27 appearances across all competitions.

    He has bagged three goals too. The English right-back, at 19, has shown an eye for defensive duties as well as the freshness going forward.

    German sensation

    Kai Havertz - Bayer Leverkusen

    The German midfielder became the youngest player to play for Bayer Leverkusen in 2016-17.

    He showed promise and the grit last season and since then he has never looked back.

    He is developing to become a player with a lot of charisma and authority.

    30 appearances this term at the age of 18, shows the trust he has earned in the club.
