#GamingBytes: Five essential 'Fortnite' looting tips for beginners
Fortnite by Epic Games has cemented its place as one of the most popular Battle Royale games. By constantly adding new and exciting content, this Battle Royale attracts new gamers every day. While beginners might have trouble getting the Victory Royale, there are some essential looting tips they should always remember. Here are five essential looting tips for Fortnite beginners.
Survival primary aim, stack up on health items
This cannot be stressed enough. The Battle Royale is not only about shooting and killing, but primarily about survival. Therefore, the more health items you have, the better chances you get at reviving your health bar if you take damage during fights. Without health items, you will be playing with a lowered bar, making it easier for your next opponent to eliminate you.
Don't forget to shield up once you land
Another equally, if not more important fact to remember about looting is to always pick up shield potions. In the game, your health bar starts at maximum, but your shield bar is zero. Upon consuming the potions your shield goes up, and if you take damage, the bar gets depleted before your health. Thus, always loot shields and keep an extra in your inventory.
Close range guns are better in early stages
Most of your encounters in the early stages of the game will involve close quarter combat. Therefore, it is advisable to loot suitable weapons for such fights. Pick up shotguns and handguns to eliminate enemies close up. Notably, shotguns are preferable since they deal more damage despite lower accuracy, and have the potential to decimate enemies with a few shots if they get close.
Remember the weapon tiers in Fortnite
Fortnite has weapon tiers which determine the effectiveness of the weapons. While looting, remember the weapon tiers by their colors. Grey is common and the least effective, green is uncommon, rare is blue, epic is purple and legendary, which is, of course, the best weapon tier is marked in orange. Keep an eye out for the higher tiers to deal more damage to enemies.
Managing inventory comes in handy during intense encounters
While looting, beginners must remember to manage their inventory. Arrange the layout according to your comfort, so you can access all inventory items with ease using the quick keys. Preferably, the first three slots should be weapons while the next could be a health item, followed by a trap or a special item in the game.
