Guide to picking your Fantasy XI for Spain vs Russia
2010 World Cup champions Spain will take on hosts Russia in the round of 16 of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Russia have impressed everyone in the group games, whereas, Spain have looked rusty till now. However, we consider Spain as the favorites to go through to the next round. Here is your complete guide to picking the ideal Fantasy XI for this fixture.
4-5-1 will best suit this fixture
We have opted for a 4-5-1 formation to get the most of the talent available tonight. We are expecting Russia to bow of the tournament and hence Spanish players will dominate our XI. Since plenty of work will be done in the center of the park, we have opted to go for 5 mid-fielders in this XI. A four-man defense will complement this mid-field.
Spain striker Deigo Costa
Costa has been phenomenal for Spain upfront. He will be the lone man leading the line for Spain. He will also be the only striker in our XI. The Atletico Madrid hitman has scored 3 goals for Spain, so far, in the tournament and is the favorite to score tonight. Costa has been clinical and has converted all his three shots on target.
Iniesta, Golovin, Isco, Zobnin and Cheryshev
Iniesta and Isco are expected to create plenty of problems for Russia and hence make this XI. For Spain, Costa and Isco are their best bets of finding the back of the net. Russia's Golovin, Zobnin will have plenty of work to do, tracking the likes of Isco and Iniesta. Cheryshev has scored 3 goals out of his 5 shots on target.
Kutepov, Ramos, Alba and Fernandes
We don't expect plenty of goals to be scored tonight and the defensive players will be key in this fixture. Sergio Ramos is a vital at center-back and Alba's attacking runs forward will make space for Isco. Russia's Fernandes is an attacking threat while Kutepov will have a task at hand to stop the Spanish juggernaut. David de Gea will be the custodian.
Captain and vice-captain
Since we expect Spain to win this fixture, we have opted to make Diego Costa our captain and Isco our vice-captain. If Spain have to score a goal, it is likely to come from one of these two players.
