Who will win the FIFA World Cup Golden Boot?
CR7 and Messi might have crashed out of 2018 FIFA World Cup, but there is still plenty of action left. In this edition, we have seen several newcomers etching their names in the record books. However, with only 12 games left this term, the list of footballers who can win the Golden Boot has narrowed down. Here are 3 contenders of this coveted prize.
England's Harry Kane
Harry Kane leads the scoring charts with 5 goals under his belt. The Three Lions captain scored a brace in the opening game to spare England's blushes against Tunisia and then scored a hat-trick against Panama. With England playing Colombia next, Kane will be hoping to score and send his side to the quarter-finals of the tournament. Notably, this is Kane's first World Cup.
Belgium's Romelu Lukaku
Romelu Lukaku has scored four goals till now. Interestingly, he has found the back of the net on 4 out of his 5 shots on-target. Belgium are up against Japan in the round-of-16 and Lukaku will surely fancy his chances of scoring against them. With the Belgian just a goal behind Kane, he is definitely one of the favorites to win the Golden Boot.
France's Kylian Mbappe
Kylian Mbappe is the youngest player in this list and recently, he became France's youngest goal-scorer in a major tournament. With 3 goals to his name, the youngster is not far away from Harry Kane. The 19-year-old terrorized Argentina's defense with his pace and skills. He is a big threat for the best of teams, so do not rule this lad out.
