Stuttgart Open: King Roger Federer regains his throne
Federer is back as the world number one player and celebrated the feat by winning his 98th career title. He defeated Raonic in the final of Stuttgart Open. The Swiss ace had decided to skip the clay court season. Now, he has made a strong comeback to the grass court and will be the number one player when the rankings are updated next week.
Federer wins his 98th title at Stuttgart
The 36-year-old Roger Federer beat Canadian Raonic 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) to win the title in Stuttgart. Federer had 'theoretically' dethroned Rafael Nadal from the number one spot when he defeated Kyrgios in the semis. He will now head to Halle to defend his title. If he becomes successful, then he will be eyeing a landmark 100th career title at the Wimbledon.

Federer extends grass court winning streak
This is Federer's maiden title at Stuttgart Open. Federer has now clinched 16 back-to-back victories on grass since his opening match defeat in Stuttgart last year. Federer will begin his record-extending 310th week at the top on Monday. Federer, Nadal and Djokovic have collectively spent 750+ weeks at the top spot in ATP rankings.
