    What's the story

Two of the tennis greats- Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are all set to lock horns in the semi-final of the Wimbledon 2019.

This will be a second straight semis show at Grand Slams between the two in 2019.

They had faced each other at Roland Garros earlier, where Nadal had defeated Federer in straight sets.

    Here is the complete preview.

    Wimbledon

    A mouth-watering clash on offer

This will be the first meeting between the two legends at Wimbledon after 2008 finale.

11 years ago, it was Nadal, who got the better of Federer in a thriller.

The Spaniard won 9-7 in the fifth set against Federer in a rain-affected tie in 2008 that spanned nearly seven hours.

One expects to see another intense match between these two stars.

    Stats

    Stat attack: Nadal vs Federer

Nadal boasts of a 24-15 advantage in the head-to-head meetings against 20-time Grand Slam champion Federer.

Federer has won the Wimbledon a staggering eight times, whereas, Nadal has pocketed the trophy twice.

In head-to-head meetings at the Wimbledon, Federer leads 2-1.

Overall in Grand Slams. Nadal leads the show by a 10-3 margin against the Swiss maestro.

    Quarters

How did the legends perform in the quarters?

Federer fought back to claim the quarters tie against Japanese Kei Nishikori 4-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-4.

This was his 100th win at the All England Club and a 13th semi-final appearance.

Meanwhile, Nadal beat Sam Querrey 7-5, 6-2, 6-2 to continue his stupendous form.

This was his seventh Wimbledon semi-final.

    Quote

Federer didn't know about his 100th win

"I wasn't thinking of the 100th win in the moment that I won, but then a fan said it as I was signing autographs and I thought 'oh yeah, that's right!'" Federer told the BBC.

    Our take

It will be a game of fine margins: Our take

Federer will be up for a mega test against Rafa, who is on a 17-match winning run at the moment.

Rafa won the Italian Open, French Open and is now vying for a third straight honor.

Unlike the Roland Garros semis though, it won't be easy for Rafa against Federer.

Federer loves grass and this could be a game of fine margins.
