Farbrace takes over as England coach for Australia, India T20Is
Assistant coach Paul Farbrace will take over as England's head coach for the upcoming T20 games against Australia and India. Farbrace will be handed the duties of Trevor Bayliss as the latter will be watching a few games of the tri-series between England Lions, India A and West Indies A. However, Bayliss will return for the ODI series against India.
Short stint perfect opportunity for Farbrace to prove his mettle
Trevor Bayliss is set to step down as England's head coach in 2019 and Farbrace is one of the top candidates to replace him. The current stint is a perfect opportunity for him to prove his attitude. England will play Australia in a lone T20I on June 27 and then the three T20Is against India from July 3 to July 8.
Not his first stint as England head coach
Paul Farbrace, certainly, does not lack the experience. Notably, this is not the first time he has been trusted with the duties of head coach. Back in 2015, when Peter Moores was sacked, Paul took over as the interim coach for a while. He was then appointed as assistant coach under Bayliss.
Paul is World T20 and Asia Cup winner
Paul Farbrace also has an impressive T20 record. He coached Sri Lanka during 2014 and they won the World T20 and the 2014 Asia Cup under his tutelage.
