DC beat KKR via super-over, here are the records broken
Delhi Capitals beat Kolkata Knight Riders in match number 10 of IPL 12. This was DC's second win of the season. Batting first, KKR posted 185/8 after Andre Russell scored a 28-ball 62. Prithvi Shaw scoring a valiant knock (99) but Kuldeep Yadav forced the game into super-over. In the super-over, DC scored 10 but star-bowler Kagiso Rabada sealed the game with his yorkers.
Russell goes past 1,000 runs in IPL
Andre Russell is now the current Orange Cap holder in IPL 2019 (159 runs). He went past David Warner (154 runs). Russell leads the charts with most sixes in IPL 12 (15). Chris Gayle and Sanju Samson follow suit with 10 sixes each. This was Russell's fifth career IPL fifty. The powerful all-rounder also went past 1,000 career IPL runs (1,049).
17th IPL fifty for DK, Mishra gets to 149 wickets
Dinesh Karthik (50) slammed five fours and two sixes. He added a crucial 95-run stand with Russell. Karthik also notched his 17th career IPL fifty. Amit Mishra (1/36) now has 149 career IPL wickets. He needs six wickets to go past all-time leader Lasith Malinga (154). Robin Uthappa now needs 19 runs to get past Gautam Gambhir (4,217) in terms of career IPL runs.
Shaw shines as Delhi earn crucial victory
Shaw registered his third IPL career half-century and his highest score as well. This was the 23rd meeting between the two teams. DC registered their 10th victory. At the Kotla, this was the ninth meeting between the two sides. This was Delhi's fourth win.
How did the match pan out?
Kolkata got off to a terrible start and were reduced to 61/5. Harshal Patel created issues for the visitors. DK and Russell then got along and changed the momentum of the game. All the five DC bowlers were among the wickets. In reply, DC lost Shikhar Dhawan early, but Shaw carried on. However, a late comeback by KKR forced the game into super over.
