Fortnite fans find a unique way to unlock Galaxy skin
Fortnite is no more just a game. It has become an immersive cultural phenomenon. With Season 5 drawing more fans, players cross all limits to get the most of what it has to offer. In a recent development, gamers are using in-store Samsung units to unlock the exclusive Galaxy skin. Notably, this skin is only available to Tab S4 and Galaxy Note 9 owners.
The legit way to unlock the Galaxy skin
Earlier, Samsung and Epic had announced a partnership. As a part of this collaboration, the Galaxy skin is being made available to gamers, who purchase the new Galaxy Note 9 or Tab S4. Players have to download Fortnite on their new unit and log-in using their Epic account. 24-48 hours after playing 3 games, the players receive an in-game gift box, containing the suit.
The unique way to download the skin
Not all fans are willing to pay $999 for the Galaxy Suit and have found a roundabout solution. They are going to retail stores and using the demo units to download Fortnite. They sign in, using their accounts, on these in-store units and once they play 3 games, the outfit is accessible across devices. US stores, including Best Buy, have been hit by this.
How have the companies reacted?
The companies have caught on to the act. Epic has not stepped in to control the situation or banned any of the the accounts for using the roundabout way of unlocking the suit. However, retail stores have become vigilant and are keeping a close eye. Samsung stores have even put up signs asking customers not to download Fortnite on the demo units.
