Faf du Plessis has completed 1,500 runs for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League. The RCB skipper attained the milestone with his 14th run in Match 52 against Gujarat Titans in Bengaluru. Du Plessis also became the fourth RCB batter with 1,500-plus IPL runs. He scored a whirlwind 64-run knock, notching his 14th fifty for the franchise as RCB won the match.

Du Plessis scored a 23-ball 64, smashing 10 fours and three sixes (SR: 278.26). Playing his 41st match, du Plessis owns 1,550 runs, averaging just under 40 (SR: 148.18). He owns 148 fours and 66 sixes. As per ESPNcricinfo, du Plessis is now the fourth player for RCB to smash 1,500-plus runs, joining the likes of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle.

Du Plessis started his IPL journey in 2012, with Chennai Super Kings. With each passing season, he grew in stature as a batter. To date, he has remained CSK's third-highest IPL run-scorer, with 2,721 runs from 92 matches at 35.33. Du Plessis played for RPS in 2016 and 2017 as CSK received a two-year ban.
