Facebook acquires sub-continental digital rights for ICC events: Details here
Social media giant Facebook has acquired the digital content rights of the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the sub-continent region. The deal is set to run until 2023, which would see Facebook providing digital contents in the sub-continent for eight marquee ICC events. Meanwhile, the financial details of the deal have not been disclosed yet. Here are further details on the same.

Considering the details regarding ICC's digital content of Facebook, it has been reported that the content would include match recaps, key moments, along with other featured contents in the sub-continent. Meanwhile, the match recaps would also be available globally on the platform until 2023.
Which are the ICC events until 2023?
As a part of the deal, eight ICC tournaments would be covered by Facebook until 2023, which include: 2020: ICC Men's and Women's World T20. 2021: ICC Men's World T20, ICC Women's World Cup, ICC World Test Championship Final 2022: ICC Women's World T20 2023: ICC Men's World Cup, ICC World Test Championship Final

Following the deal, Manu Sawhney, ICC's chief executive, has said that this is exciting news for the future of the game, as it would broaden the reach of the sport. NOTE: Facebook digital content to not include live stream
It should be noted that the TV rights for the ICC events in the sub-continent are with Star Sports Network. Thus, the streaming rights for the same rely on Star and would be continued to be streamed on Hotstar, as the deal with Facebook does not include the streaming rights. Also, digital contents for ICC U-19 tournaments would be unavailable on Facebook.
