#GamingBytes: All about PUBG Update 1.0 for Xbox
PUBG for Xbox is finally out after having spent last year on the Xbox Game Preview program. With this comes the Update 1.0. It improves gameplay, adds new weapons, skins, crates, and most importantly, the Sanhok map. Notably, players can access Sanhok today, itself, and developers will add a 'War Mode' in late September, and 'Custom Match' in mid-October. Read about the update here.
It's time for tropical thunder
Sanhok is the new map that has been added to PUBG for Xbox. It is a tropical map. The dimensions are 4 km by 4 km, which makes it one fourth the size of Erangel or Miramar. Though the map is smaller, the battles will be as extensive as the number of players is still capped at 100. Interestingly, Sanhok will have dynamic weather.
Takes you right in through the danger zones
The red zone will be outside the playzone. This means players are at greater risk outside the white circle. However, the red zone will be shorter-lasting and smaller. A dynamic blue zone will determine shrinking of the playzone. It will check the number of players before deciding on the next circle. The waiting time will be shorter and players need to travel longer distances.
Shoot them up
The update introduces new guns, some of them are Sanhok-specific. Sanhok will see more frequent spawns of SMG, AR and DMR guns. Though 8x and 15x scopes will not spawn, they can be obtained from supply crates at drop locations. A new assault-rifle called QBZ, and a Sanhok-exclusive DMR called QBU has been introduced. The attached bi-pod to QBU reduces recoil, making shooting easier.
Ride through the map on a pickup truck
A new vehicle called Rony is being introduced to the Sanhok map. This is a pickup truck that specializes in the hilly terrain of Sanhok. It is a large vehicle and can hold up to four people. This makes it ideal for squad travel. However, this vehicle will likely be slower, even though the size ensures players can use it to take cover.
Other additions to the game
Players can now customize their weapons and parachute skins with the new update. Be sure to get camouflage skins to remain undetected in the game. Players will also get apples in the Sanhok map, which they can throw while in the waiting lobby.
