Football: Lewandowski and Sandro could be on the move
The football transfer market has been buzzing these days. Unai Emery announced his appointment as Arsenal manager, while Carlo Ancelotti might be heading back to Italy. Further, Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski could be on the move as Manchester United are in the hunt for a new left-back. Here are all the transfer rumors from across Europe.
Madrid favorites to sign Lewandowski
Champions League finalists Real Madrid are keen to add another player to their attack. They are now favourites to sign Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski. Chelsea were keen on signing the Poland international, as well, but they are likely to miss out on the 29-year old as they failed to secure Champions League spot. Chelsea are set to play in the Europa League next season.
Man United ready to spend big for Alex Sandro
Jose Mourinho's failure to win a trophy this season is forcing Manchester United to spend big bucks in the transfer market. Juventus left-back Alex Sandro seems the primary target of United. The 27-year-old, who missed out on a World Cup spot for Brazil, will not come cheap. He will reportedly cost the Red Devils around £45 million.
Napoli make contact with Ancelotti
Italian giants Napoli are reportedly in talks with former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti to replace Maurizio Sarri in Naples. Napoli finished second in the Serie A race as they ended their campaign with 91 points. Interestingly, Chelsea are also keen on replacing Antonio Conte with Maurizio Sarri at the helm of the Blues.
Emery will hardly have any say about Arsenal's transfer
We already broke to you that Unai Emery is set to take over at Arsenal but today's big scoop states that the former PSG manager is hardly going to have a say in the transfer market. Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis and head of football operations Raul Sanllehi will look after the transfers. Emery's official website had announced his appointment.
Manchester City to hand Arteta new contract
With Emery confirming his appointment as Arsenal's new manager, Mikel Arteta might be handed a new contract at Manchester City. Arsenal opted for Emery over City assistant manager due to the Emery's vast experience across Europe. This means Arteta will continue as Pep Guardiola's understudy.
