Erik ten Hag is not thinking about Manchester United sacking
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag isn't thinking about getting sacked by the club amid growing speculation and pressure. He said this in a press conference ahead of the Aston Villa game on Sunday. Ten Hag, who has endured a difficult start to the 2024-25 season, is under tremendous pressure. On Thursday, his side was involved in a chaotic 3-3 draw against FC Porto.
'I'm not even thinking about such issues'
When asked about his thoughts about his current situation, ten Hag said he and the club are in it together. "I'm not even thinking about such issues because that is not a topic. We are in there together. The ownership, the leadership, the team, the staff. I appointed new staff," the former Ajax boss stated.

What ten Hag said after the Porto clash
Ten Hag was adamant of helping United reach the level that is expected. "We will get there," Ten Hag told TNT Sports. "Don't judge us in this moment, judge us at the end of the season. We are in the process, we will improve. We have had two seasons where we have reached finals, we will continue and fight."
Manchester United hold FC Porto 3-3 in Europa League
Manchester United wasted a two-goal lead to draw 3-3 versus FC Porto in matchweek 2 of the UEFA Europa League season. Goals from Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund handed the visitors a 2-0 lead within 20 minutes. However, Porto scored two goals in seven minutes to make it 2-2 going into half-time. Porto went 3-2 up before Harry Maguire scored the equalizer late on.
Ten Hag's fate hangs in the balance
A win against Porto would have helped keep some pressure off ahead of the weekend's massive trip to Aston Villa. However, although Maguire saved the blushes, ten Hag will be scrutinized once again as his side conceded three goals. For now, this comes as a relief for United as they earned a point but Porto could have put this game into bed.
