If EPL 2019-20 doesn't resume, which club wins or loses?

    What's the story

The Premier League 2019-20 has currently been postponed until April 3 in wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Football Association (FA) wants the season to conclude after the Euro 2020 was postponed to 2021.

However, if a cancellation is forced upon them, we look at the clubs which could end up as winners or losers.

    Here's more.

    Liverpool

Liverpool could be the biggest losers

Liverpool are just two wins away from securing the Premier League title.

If the season is declared null and void, then Liverpool will miss out on the same.

They went into the suspension period with a bit of lack in form after Champions League and FA Cup exits.

However, Jurgen Klopp's men, who enjoy a 25-point gap, would want the season to end.

    Verdict: Loser

    What about Manchester United?

Fifth-placed Manchester United were enjoying the best moment of their season.

Besides being fifth in the league, they were in the decisive stages of the FA Cup and Europa League.

If the season isn't completed, then United will not only lose out on top-four finish but also will see a fight for silverware end.

It would be a sad blow to their campaign.

    Duo

Man City and Leicester will also lose out

For second-placed Manchester City, this was their chance to win the UCL, besides also retaining the FA Cup.

It could have helped them with three major trophies.

With a potential European ban hanging over their heads, City will be heartbroken.

Third-placed Leicester City are vying for a top-four finish and earn Champions League berth.

It will be a significant blow for the Foxes.

    Chelsea, Spurs

Chelsea and Spurs will be winners

Chelsea are in for a top-four fight and with an exciting squad on offer.

Manager Frank Lampard will be happy if the season doesn't resume with the Blues being assured of Champions League on basis of the previous season.

Tottenham are struggling this season in the absence of key figures.

However, like Chelsea, they will be reasonably happy with UCL on offer next season.

    Others

Relegation battling teams are winners, blow for Arsenal

Teams that are fighting relegation this season, are the genuine winners.

This includes the likes of Norwich City, Bournemouth, Aston Villa, Watford and West Ham.

If the season doesn't resume, then these teams will be playing the league next term.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will lose given they are battling for a top-four berth.

They also won't have UCL in the 2020-21 season.
