Is Eden Hazard moving to Real Madrid?
Chelsea's attacking mid-fielder Eden Hazard on Sunday said he has made his decision about his future with the club. It came following Chelsea's eventful campaign this season as they finished third in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Hazard has been linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid. Madrid's manager Zinedine Zidane is eyeing an overhaul, and has identified the Belgian as his target.
Hazard likely to leave Chelsea to pursue new challenge
Commenting on his future with the London-based club, Hazard stated that he has already let the club know about his decision. He also suggested that he would be soon leaving Stamford Bridge. While he did not confirm if he was eyeing a move to Madrid, it is almost clear that he is off to the Spanish capital.
I have made my decision: Hazard
"Yes I have made my decision, but it is not just about me. Would I have liked it to be cleared up earlier in the season? Yes, I wanted that but that's not happened. I'm still waiting like you are waiting," quoted Hazard on Sunday.
Chelsea to suffer big loss following Hazard's departure
Hazard has been Chelsea's top performer this season, scoring 19 goals in 51 matches. Overall, he has scored 108 goals in 351 matches. Having won five silverware with the club, he has been their guardian angel. Least to say, Chelsea would not just lose a great player, but would also find it hard to fill in his shoes, owing to their two-year transfer ban.
Who could 'eventually' replace Hazard?
While there are a number of players who can replace Hazard, there is one specific name that has been doing rounds. Being a former Premier League star and having played for Liverpool before, Barcelona's Philippe Coutinho is being considered as a hot favorite. Moreover, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich too is interested in having the mid-fielder at Stamford Bridge.
Hazard eyes one last silverware with Chelsea
While Hazard will have ample time to decide about his future club, as of now, he still has one last task remaining with Chelsea. He is set to play the UEFA Europa League final against Arsenal, which could be their only silverware this season. Least to say, Hazard would aim to leave the club with a bang and his head held high.
