Game-week 16 of the Premier League gave us some fascinating results. Chelsea overcame Manchester City 2-0 at home. Liverpool have gone atop the league standings with a 4-0 thrashing of Bournemouth. Chelsea shine at Stamford Bridge, City's unbeaten run ended
The Blues are now unbeaten in 12 Premier League games at Stamford Bridge (W7 D5). Man City suffered their first Premier League defeat in 22 matches. Their last defeat came against Manchester United back in April. This was Maurizio Sarri's first victory over Pep Guardiola in his career. Eden Hazard has now assisted a goal for Chelsea in three consecutive Premier League matches.
Milner makes 500th PL appearance, Salah dominates
Mo Salah became the fastest player to hit the 40-goal mark for Liverpool. James Milner made his 500th Premier League appearance. He is the 13th player to achieve this landmark. Liverpool's 42 points after 16 matches is the best tally notched by them in EPL. Since 2015-16, Bournemouth have scored 8 own goals. Eddie Howe has lost eight games across all competitions against Liverpool.
Jose wins 50th PL game as Manchester United coach
Jose Mourinho won his 50th Premier League games as Manchester United manager. Fulham have now conceded in 20 consecutive top-flight games, their longest streak. The Cottagers have conceded 40 goals in 16 matches. This is the second most in Premier League's history after Barnsley in 1997-98 season (43). Juan Mata is the third Spanish player to notch both 50+ goals and assists in PL.
Arsenal go 21 matches unbeaten, Spurs record best tally
Arsenal have now remained unbeaten in 21 games across all competitions. There were just two shots on target in the Arsenal versus Huddersfield match. Seven yellow cards were shown in the first half, the most since 2011. Dele Alli scored his 50th goal for Spurs across all competitions. Spurs recorded their best ever start to the Premier League season (36 points from 16 matches).
