England continued their dominance over Australia as they surged ahead with a victory in the 4th ODI at Durham. The hosts are leading Aussies by a 4-0 margin and could script a series whitewash. Roy, Bairstow help England script record chase against Australia
England notched their highest ever run-chase against Australia in the history of ODIs. The credit goes to Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow, who scripted another century stand. This was the duo's fifth 100+ stand in 2018. England have been successful in scoring runs at will as the duo now average 68.62 for the first wicket in just 16 games.
England's top three continue to plunder the runs
The top three batsman of England scored 214 runs between them after having amassed 368 in the record-breaking third ODI at Trent Bridge. Roy scored a defiant 101 to get to his third ton of 2018. Bairstow smashed 79 while Alex Hales played a matured unbeaten knock of 34. Courtesy their batsmen, England can notch their first ever ODI series whitewash against Australia.
Finch, Marsh heroics not enough for Aussies
Aaron Finch scored his 11th career ODI ton and a 6th against England as he hit a 106-ball 100. He was well supported by Shaun Marsh, who scored his 2nd ODI ton this series. The southpaw also amassed his 5th career ton in the 50-over format. The duo shared a 124-run stand, but the Aussies crumbled post that to end at 310/8.

Out of 9 ODIs against England this year, Australia have managed just a solitary victory. England's dominance have seen them win eight matches and also pocket both the ODI series. Aussie skipper Tim Paine acknowledged that England are the best ODI side in the world.
