Sterling had vowed never to touch a gun
Campaigners called the display as totally unacceptable and sickening. Sterling, in his defense, went on to say that that he had vowed earlier never to touch a gun after his father was shot dead when he was a kid. The 23-year-old's father was gunned down in Kingston, Jamaica. Sterling added that he shoots with his right leg and the tattoo has a deeper meaning.
Sterling backed on social media
There have been mixed reactions on Twitter regarding Sterling's new tattoo. This comes after the founder of Mothers Against Guns, Lucy Pope, cited that the player should not be allowed to play for England if he does not get rid of the tattoo.
