England cricketer Danielle Wyatt to play using Kohli's bat
Apart from her amazing cricket prowess, England women's cricketer Danielle Wyatt is also remembered for her tweet in which she proposed marriage to Virat Kohli. Wyatt was gifted a bat by Kohli himself and she is all set to put it to use in the upcoming tour of India. England women are scheduled to play T20I tri-series in India later this month.
Wyatt's tweet and the attention that followed
Post a fine performance by Virat Kohli in 2014 during the World T20, an impressed English cricketer Danielle Wyatt took to Twitter and wrote, "Kohli marry me!" Unbeknownst to her was the attention it would gather, as she was flooded with thousands of favourites, re-tweets, and emails. Subsequently the fan girl was handed one of Kohli's bats by the man himself.
Wyatt's career with England
Wyatt is a top-order batswoman and has played for England in 53 ODIs, and 73 T20Is in which she has scored 602 and 657 runs respectively. The English all-rounder also has 27 ODI and 46 T20I wickets to her name. In her last match, a T20I against Australia in November 2017, the 26-year-old became the first English women cricketer to score a T20 century.
Tri-series schedule
England and Australia will tour India for a T20 tri-series between 22nd to 31st March, 2018 at Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium. The first match will see India take on Australia.
