Ashes: England batsman Ben Duckett suspended
England are on the verge of losing the Ashes after going down 2-0 in the series; their troubles only seem to be mounting. Batsman Ben Duckett is the latest English cricketer to be drawn into controversy and has been dropped from the England squad following an incident in a bar at Perth. Here is more about the incident.
Suspended by ECB after bar incident
Ben Duckett, who was named in the squad to take on Cricket Australia XI in a tour match, has been dropped after reports claimed that he poured a drink over a senior player over an argument. The batsman has been suspended by the ECB and an investigation is being conducted. It has been speculated that the senior player was Anderson.
Duckett under ECB investigation
The 23 year-old has been touring down under and was promoted for the current tour match since senior players are being rested before the third test in Perth. This is not the first time that the left-handed batsman has been drawn into controversy. In the past, he was dropped from Northants' pre-season tour of Barbados because of lack of motivation.
Lack for professionalism could hurt Duckett
Ben Duckett has all the talent, but disciplinary issues might cost him real bad. Duckett should learn from the mistakes of former Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli whose career has seen a huge downfall due to his poor discipline. But for now, England cricketers have to stay far away from all the scrutiny which began with Ben Stokes's arrest.
