A look at England captains with ODI tons against Australia
What's the story
After losing the first two ODIs, hosts England beat Australia in the 3rd at the Riverside Ground.
The Englishmen secured a 46-run win (DLS method) while chasing down 305. England were well ahead of the par score (254/4) when rain stopped play.
Skipper Harry Brook scored a match-winning 110* for England. He became the fourth England captain with an ODI ton against Australia.

121: Eoin Morgan, Sydney, 2015
Eoin Morgan has the highest score by an England captain against Australia in ODI cricket.
He smashed a 136-ball 121 against the Aussies at the Sydney Cricket Ground in 2015. However, his knock went in vain as Australia claimed a three-wicket win.
They chased down a nominal 235 after bowling out England. Morgan had rescued England from 69/5.
#2
113*: Michael Atherton, The Oval, 1997
Former England batter Michael Atherton follows Morgan with an unbeaten knock of 113* off 149 balls. His match-winning innings came at The Oval in 1997.
Australia had scored 249/6 in 50 overs, with Michael Bevan returning a century.
Atherton then led England from the front by scoring a ton. They eventually won by six wickets (with 10 balls remaining).

102: David Gower, Lord's, 1985
While Brook holds the third spot on this list, former batter David Gower is next.
The latter scored a match-winning 102 off 118 balls against Australia at the iconic Lord's in 1985.
Gower added a double-century stand with opener Graham Gooch (117*), helping England chase 255 in 49 overs.
Notably, it was a 55-over match.
