India vs England: Visitors announce squad; Archer, Root miss out

The ECB has announced England's squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against India.
Notably, fast bowler Jofra Archer will miss the impending assignment after his elbow injury is found to have aggravated.
England's 14-member squad for the ODIs doesn't feature Joe Root too, who flew back home after the Tests.
However, leg-spinner Matt Parkinson has been recalled after a year.

As per recent reports, Archer will fly back home for "further management and investigation" of his right elbow injury.
It is understood that his injury has got worse over the course of five-match T20I series.
Meanwhile, an ECB release also stated that the fast bowler will miss the first half of Indian Premier League 2021, in order to recover.

Call-ups for Parkinson, Livingstone and Topley
Leg-spinner Parkinson, who made his ODI debut in South Africa in February 2020, has been recalled into the side.
The 24-year-old is yet to take his maiden ODI wicket.
Meanwhile, Liam Livingstone and Reece Topley, who weren't a part of England's last ODI assignment, have also been picked.
The duo was also with England's T20I squad this time, but did not get a game.

In his absence, middle-order batsman Sam Billings will have another opportunity to impress the selectors.

India recently won the fifth and final T20I against England, thereby sealing the series 3-2.
The visitors earlier lost the Test series 3-1 after winning the series opener.
Now, the attention shifts to the 50-over format as the three-match series begins on March 23 in Pune.
The second and third ODI will be played on March 26 and 28 respectively.
