England coach Trevor Bayliss to step down in September 2019
England's cricket team head coach Trevor Bayliss will not be continuing with his present job once his tenure ends in September 2019. Bayliss has made his decision. He has no intention of staying, even if England go on to win the ICC World Cup 2019 as well as the Ashes. England play against New Zealand in the World Cup finale on Sunday.
Major achievements in Trevor's reign
Bayliss took over as England's head coach in May 2015. England won the 2015 Ashes at home (3-2). Under his guidance, England reached the final of the World T20 in 2016, but faced defeat. England lost in the semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017 against Pakistan. Since then, the Three Lions have dominated the ODI circuit more than anyone else.
Four or five years is long enough: Bayliss
"I have always been a believer that four or five years is long enough, whether you are doing well or not. It is time for a new voice for the boys, to hopefully take them to another level," said the 56-year-old.
Bayliss has improved England in ODIs
England have been extraordinary in the ICC World Cup 2019. The hosts have peaked at the right time and could seal a maiden title on Sunday. England have played an aggressive brand of cricket under Bayliss and that has been a significant reason behind their success. Credit goes to Bayliss and skipper Eoin Morgan for shaping England especially in the ODI format.

"Four years ago after the last World Cup, which was not good for England, we set out and had planning to hopefully win the 2019 edition, and it feels great that now we have a chance to fulfil those dreams," he added.
World Cup win can boost England's Ashes hopes
A World Cup victory will boost England for the 2019 Ashes at home. England will hope to regain the urn after the 2017-18 Ashes loss. Also, England beat Australia in the semis of the 2019 World Cup. They will want to make things count on home soil. Bayliss will want to go out on a high and that will be a fitting farewell.
