During her second-round match in Korea against Yue Yuan, Raducanu took a medical time-out to have her foot strapped but continued to secure a victory with a scoreline of 6-4, 6-3.

Kasatkina expressed her sympathy for Raducanu following her retirement from the Korea Open. "I feel sorry for Emma. It's a pity to get injured, especially in the deeper stages of the tournament.
