    What's the story

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have announced the appointment of Dwayne Bravo as their new mentor. He will be replacing Gautam Gambhir, who has transitioned to the Indian team.

Prior to this role, Bravo served as the bowling coach for Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

The Trinidadian all-rounder has an impressive record in T20 cricket with 631 wickets and nearly 7,000 runs from 582 matches.

He further added, "Having played for and against the Knight Riders in various leagues, I have a lot of respect for how they operate."

    Retirement from all cricket

Bravo retired from all forms of cricket on September 26.

The celebrated all-rounder, prematurely ended his Caribbean Premier League (CPL) career due to a groin injury earlier this week.

The unfortunate incident occurred during a match against St Lucia Kings in Tarouba on Tuesday.

Bravo, who has featured in the CPL since the inaugural edition in 2013, leads the wickets column.
