South Africa announce squad for T20I series against India
South Africa have named a 14-member squad for the upcoming T20Is series against India. With their regular captain Faf du Plessis still injured, JP Duminy has been handed the responsibility of leading the side. The squad will also see 3 new faces who are set to make their T20 debut for the Proteas. Here's more!

JP Duminy (captain), Farhaan Behardien, Junior Dala, AB de Villiers, Reeza Hendricks, Christiaan Jonker, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Chris Morris, Dane Paterson, Aaron Phangiso, Andile Phehlukwayo, Tabraiz Shamsi and Jon-Jon Smuts.
Imran Tahir, Amla & Markram rested
Test squad regular Hashim Amla and current ODI captain, Aiden Markram have been rested keeping the Australia series in mind. However, AB de Villiers has been named in the squad, considering he has missed a lot of international cricket in the last 12 months. Veteran spinner Imran Tahir has also been dropped to promote the likes of Tabraiz Shamsi and Aaron Phangiso.
Jonker, Dala and Klaasen called up for T20Is against India
Christiaan Jonker, who was the top scorer for the Warriors in the Ram Slam T20 tournament, has been rewarded for his fine form. Reeza Hendricks, who was the tournament's top scorer, has also been called up. Heinrich Klaasen has been named in place of injured Quinton de Kock. He had helped South Africa to a victory in the 4th ODI.
South Africa to take on India in 3 match T20Is
3 match T20I series between India and South Africa will commence on February 18 in Johannesburg. The second fixture will be played at SuperSport Park, Centurion on February 21 and the final game of the series will be played in Cape Town on February 24.
