What's the story

Manav Suthar's stellar seven-wicket haul against India D has put India C in command in the Duleep Trophy opener in Anantapur. The left-arm spinner claimed five wickets in the final session of Day 2 before dismissing two more batters on Day 3 morning. His brilliance meant India D went from 166/3 to 236 all-out. India C now need to accomplish the 233-run target to taste glory.

Game changer

Suthar's game-changing performance and India D's collapse

At 166/3, India D seemed set to give their opposition a substantial target. However, Suthar's entry changed the game once again. He dismissed the well-set Devdutt Padikkal and then added the scalp of Srikar Bharat. A collapse ensued as Suthar dismissed Ricky Bhui (44) and then effected a double strike with the wickets of Saransh and Arshdeep Singh to leave D eight down by stumps. Axat Patel and Aditya Thakare fell to him on Day 3.
